The exhibit “In Real Times, Arthur Szyk: Artist and Soldier for Human Rights” by Carrie Mac Weber is on view at the Fairfield University Museum and scheduled for Sunday at Jim & Dede from 2-3 p.m. This will be the subject of the lecture. New Canaan Library’s Bartlett Auditorium, 151 Main Street.
Mac Weber is executive director of the Fairfield University Art Museum. She will discuss the history of the exhibition and discuss his artistic legacy, highlighting selected works created during Siku’s time as a resident of New Canaan.

The New Canaan Nature Center (144 Oenoke Ridge, Route 124) is hosting “Vote for Nature on Election Day.” The event will take place Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
Families are invited to spend a fall day with NCNC naturalists and participate in family field games like pumpkin ring toss, fall crafts, marshmallow roasting by the campfire, and animal encounters .

Y celebrates Native Americans
The New Canaan YMCA (564 South Avenue) is celebrating Native American Heritage Month in November with several special events celebrating the culture, traditions, and achievements of Native Americans and their descendants from Wednesday through Nov. 15. .
The first two weeks of each month will feature a “Native American Heroes and Heroines Scavenger Hunt.” Participants will win his $25 gift card to his EB222 at Dante’s Cafe. Pick up your entry form and instructions at the Native American Heritage Month table across from the Member Services Desk. This game is suitable for all ages.
Buffalo Trace Blender speaks at Men’s Club
Drew Mayville, master blender at Buffalo Trace Distillery, the oldest continuously operating distillery in the United States, spoke Friday at the New Canaan Men’s Club about the company’s history and award-winning bourbon product line. I will give a lecture about
The club meets on Fridays at 10 a.m. in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church’s Morrill Hall. Mayville’s remarks will begin around 10:40 a.m. following the business portion of the meeting.
The distillery has won more than 40 industry titles since 2000, and its premium whiskey range has won more than 500 awards.
Mayville has over 40 years of experience working with some of the largest companies in the beverage alcohol industry. He joined the distillery in his 2004 as Master Blender and Quality Director. His extensive experience is based mostly on his 23 years at Seagram.
During his time at Seagram’s, he was involved in all areas of manufacturing. Mayville was the last master blender to serve under the Seagram dynasty. He has worked on all of the award-winning products produced by Buffalo His Trace, as well as the company’s other highly regarded spirits in his category.

land trust annual meeting set
Mary Ellen LeMay, Landowner Engagement Director for Aspetac Land Trust, will be speaking at the New Canaan Land Tour scheduled for Thursday at the New Canaan Nature Center, 144 Oenoke Ridge Road, from 6:30 p.m. – Become a featured speaker at the Trust’s annual general meeting.
LeMay will discuss the Aspetac Land Trust Green Corridor Project, which aims to increase the scale and proportion of land conservation on the Aspetac property, according to a news release about the meeting. The project is being touted as a model for local communities to balance conservation efforts with economic and environmental health throughout urban, suburban and rural areas across Fairfield County.

Daylight saving time ends this Sunday at 2 a.m., and clocks go back one hour. New Canaan students go to Lasel
Spencer Fuller Wright of New Canaan became a student at Lasell College this fall. Fullerite joins his more than 370 freshmen at the university.
