NEW ORLEANS (Press Release) – Riverwalk Outlets is getting into the holiday spirit this season with plenty of family-friendly festive events. From a holiday choir celebrating shoppers to special holiday movie screenings at Spanish Plaza, Riverwalk Outlets helps locals and visitors alike get into the holiday spirit. The event begins with the Riverwalk’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on November 21st at Spanish Plaza.

Christmas tree lighting ceremony
Join us on Tuesday, November 21st from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Riverwalk Outlets for our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The ceremony marks the start of the holiday season by lighting up a beautifully decorated 30-foot-tall tree. Guests will enjoy the sound of the Abramson Academy of Sciences High School Band, coupons for Café Her du Her Monde beignets and drinks, a special appearance by Santa and her friends, and the opportunity to purchase a special souvenir photo by Picture Her People You can enjoy it. The event, in partnership with the Downtown Development District, culminates in the lighting of downtown New Orleans.
Holiday drinks and shopping
On Tuesdays in December, shoppers can participate in a special Holiday Ship and Shop event. Held from 3:00pm to 6:30pm on December 5th, 12th and 19th, enjoy complimentary wines from Nora’s Tropical His Winery at the River Walk Outlet. He must be over 21 years old to participate.
Hanukkah at the River Walk
On Thursday, December 7th, Riverwalk Outlets will partner with Chabad Lubavitch of Louisiana to host Hanukkah at the Riverwalk. Starting at 5:30 p.m., an event hosted by Chabad-Lubavitch will take place at Plaza Espanya and include the lighting of a giant menorah to commemorate the beginning of Hanukkah. The event will feature live traditional Jewish music, kosher food, and complimentary delicious latkes, Jewish gelt, dreidels, crafts, and more for the whole family to enjoy. .
Photo with Santa
Meet Santa at Riverwalk Outlets. It starts on Black Friday (November 24th) and runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until December 31st. Riverwalk guests will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa by The Picture People. Photo shoots will take place inside the Riverwalk Outlets on Level B across from the Ralph Lauren Store during mall business hours.
Movies Under the Stars at Spanish Plaza
Bring the whole family to watch a special holiday movie at Plaza Espanya on Saturday, December 9th and December 16th from dusk to 8pm. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be provided, as well as selfies with Santa under his Christmas tree on the River Walk.

Riverwalk Outlet Magical Christmas Arts & Crafts Show
On Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Riverwalk guests can enjoy a variety of arts and crafts sales at Spanish Plaza for some final shopping of the holiday season. While you’re here, you can also enjoy screenings of The Polar Express at Movies Under the Stars on the Riverwalk.
In addition to the event, more than 75 retailers on the Riverwalk will also be offering special deals throughout the holiday season. Stop by to purchase all the items on your holiday shopping list.
