Monthly Prayer: Holy Hour with Explanation and Blessing of the Most Holy Sacrament is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus on the second Thursday of each month (before the 7 p.m. Mass) at Our Lady of the Scapular, 2609 Tenth St., Wyandotte. Christ the King Lutheran Church Festival Sale and Recycling: Located at 16700 Pennsylvania Road, Southgate. Donations will be accepted at this location on Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items for sale include clothing, household goods, medical supplies, beauty products, holiday & Christmas trees/wreaths, and more. Crafters Welcome: Crafters meet every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the social hall of St. Cyprian Catholic Church on Pennsylvania Road in Riverview. We knit, crochet, and sew a variety of items for all ages, including hats and scarves, baby products, lap blankets, quilts, stuffed animals, dish towels, adult bibs, and more to help local people in need. We donate to organizations such as Veterans, soup kitchen customers, local hospice, the homeless, and more.
Mentally Illness Support Group: An organization for relatives and friends of mentally ill people in the Downriver area that meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn in Mitchell Hall, 600 N. Brady. It will be held at Another support group meets on the third Wednesday of each month in the Rehabilitation Building at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. Room 232 on the second floor. Sunday School: St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Youth Department, 2803 1st Ave., Wyandotte, offers Sunday School every Sunday at 10 a.m. for children in preschool through fifth grade. Downriver Women’s Social Group: Join women for conversation and friendship Thursdays from 10 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m., at Lockwood First Congregational Church, 22600 Mather St. You can work on ring crafts or play board or card games. Some people come late or leave early, and some people bring their lunch boxes and eat them together. There are no membership fees. Church affiliation is not required. Food Pantry: Every Thursday, Downriver Church hosts an emergency food pantry to supply individuals and families in the Downriver community with a day’s worth of food. The pantry is open every Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants must bring a driver’s license or state-issued ID. Downriver Church is located at 14400 Beech Daly, Taylor.
