Third, United Way of Marquette County collects donations to support food security programs throughout Marquette County.
“This is an initiative by multiple groups to raise community awareness of the food security facing our neighbors and the programs that are actively fighting to improve food security in our region. This is a great opportunity to work together,” said UWMC Executive Director Andrew Likauer.
“It’s rare for people to have the ability to easily donate fresh produce, such as meat, dairy, and fresh produce. We’re happy to have our agents on-site and able to put it directly into the programs that serve our clients.” added Holly Michelin, UWMC program coordinator. “The most requested fresh products are long-shelf-life ground beef, cheese, and whole fruits and vegetables,” Michelin added.
