ST. LOUIS – Trick-or-treaters will be out in full force Tuesday night despite the cold weather.
We want everyone to have a good time this Halloween, but we also ask drivers to be on the lookout for children wandering around town in costumes. If you’re still looking for something to do, Here’s a look at some of the events you and your family might want to check out.
A Halloween musical costume parade will be held at Francis Park in south St. Louis. People march from Tam Street to Nottingham. Anyone can use it, including pets.Parade begins at 5:30 p.m.
The Maplewood Fire Department will hold its annual drive-thru Halloween event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be lots of music, exploding decorations, and of course candy.
The Maryland Heights Fire Department will also be holding a special Halloween event. The Talking Pumpkin will be visiting Fire Station No. 2 on Dorset Road between 5pm and 8pm. If you tell a joke to the pumpkin, you will receive candy. A spooky haunted ambulance is also available for trick-or-treaters.
The Lenhardt Family Light Show will also return. at the Larry G. Kreitz Memorial Park in Festus. This annual spectacle features more than 120,000 of his computer-controlled lights, all synchronized to music. This year’s display uses three miles of wire and 17 computers. Organizers say it’s three times the size of last year’s show.
The City of Alton holds its annual Halloween Parade on Tuesday night. It has been a huge hit year after year. Built 106 years ago, it is one of the oldest in Japan. The parade begins at Broadway and Washington Avenue in downtown Alton at 7 p.m. Dozens of floats, bands and costumed marchers will participate.
The Edwardsville Halloween Parade is one of the largest in the Metro East. The parade begins in the Lincoln Middle School parking lot. It departs at 6:30 p.m. and winds its way through the streets of Edwardsville, heading east on St. Louis Street to Vandalia Street, heading north on North Main Street and ending at High Street. Parking is available in the “Super Lot” on the east side of Main Street and on side streets along the parade route.
The first-ever Celebrity Kids Fall Festival will then take place from 6pm to 8pm at Celebrity’s brand new Banquet Center on Bellefontaine Road. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
