Monmouth County Walmart shoppers, take note. Renovations to his Walmart Supercenter at 4900 US 9 in Howell have been completed. On Friday, Walmart customers will be welcomed inside newly transformed stores as part of a grand reopening celebration that represents more than $500 million in capital investments in local communities across 30 states.
The Howell store will mark the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community festivities, with Walmart employees (including two who helped open the store 27 years ago) and local community leaders.
Over the past two years, Walmart has invested approximately $9 billion to upgrade more than 1,400 stores across the United States. The store reopenings are part of Walmart’s Signature Experience, which aims to inspire and provide customers with a seamless, high-quality shopping experience.
At the Howell celebration, Walmart Store Manager Yvonne Angelo will highlight the store’s transformation and new interactive features now available to customers.
New interactive features currently available to customers include:
- Activated corner: Displays are installed in the home line, baby products and apparel corners to draw customers in, allowing them to touch, feel and become part of the space.
- Top divisions: The renovated store features displays showcasing products right out of the box to help customers imagine products that fit into their daily lives.
- Future entertainment: A state-of-the-art electronics department with numerous product demonstration stations.
- Reorganized store layout: To provide more convenient access to shopping-enriched areas.
- New products and categories: Expanded pet department. new apparel brands such as Reebok, Polo, Chaps, and Sam & Libby; New cosmetic lines include Mario Badescu, By Terry, Beauty Space, and Philip B.
- Improvements at checkout: Front-end transformation to reduce checkout times.
- Refreshed interior and exterior: Painting and signage included to facilitate navigation within the store.
- Enhanced lighting: New fixtures and LED lighting have been installed throughout the store.and
- Digital touchpoints: New touchpoints located throughout the store will help.
“This store is an important part of our community, providing a place for people to shop, connect and build relationships,” Angelo said. “I’m proud of this store and each of our employees who work hard every day to serve our customers and the community. I’m confident our customers will love these updates. , we can’t wait for our employees to welcome the update as well.”
To strengthen Walmart’s commitment to the communities it serves, Angelo and associates will award grants to local nonprofit organizations, including:
- Donated $2,500 to the Howell Township Police Department for the annual “Shop with a Cop” event.
- $1,500 to the Girls Scouts of Monmouth County.
- $1,500 to Spread Kindness of Lakewood, a local nonprofit that helps those in need.
- $1,500 to United States Submarine Veterans Inc.
The celebration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will feature a presentation of the colors by a local veterans group and a performance of the national anthem by Rebel Remix performers. The day will include free samples and treats from Walmart vendors, visits from various mascots including the famous Philly Phanatic, plus music, entertainment and games.
