Historic Portland Place Tour
Wednesday to Sunday, November 1 to 5, 8 to 12, and 15 to 19 at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m.
Portland Place, Hartshorne Woods Park, Locust
Tour this beautifully restored 18th century home and view exhibits that tell the history of the area and the heritage of the Hartshorne family of Monmouth County. Tours are limited to 10 people and may be canceled in case of inclement weather. Please register on-site at the Portland Place Visitor Center on the day of your tour. free!
Climbing time
Sunday, November 5th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Frenaugh Woods Park, Aberdeen
Try Park System’s 25-foot portable climbing wall. You must be at least 42 inches tall to climb. The target age is 8 years old and above. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. free!

Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, Howell – Meet in the parking lot.
Explore the trails with park system naturalists and discuss all kinds of plant and animal phenomena. Available for all ages. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. free!

Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls
Kick off your holiday shopping with this craft show featuring handmade items. Admission and parking are free.
open shoot archery
Saturday, November 11th from 10am to 2pm
Thompson Park Activity Barn, Lincroft
All equipment is provided for this open shoot. Use of external equipment is not permitted. This is not an instructional clinic, nor is it designed for beginners. If you are new to archery, please enroll in one of our instructional classes before joining. The target age is 10 years old and above. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $10 per person. Cash or check only.

Meet in the parking lot at Dorbrook Recreation Area – Basketball Courts in Colts Neck.
Join a park system naturalist on this leisurely morning bird walk and spend about an hour and a half roaming the park to see what birds you can spot. You don’t have to be an expert to identify birds. Although quantities are limited, binoculars are available for rent as needed. free!
