TIP CITY – Tipp City City Council approves suspension of flex building application, approves contract with Miami County Public Defender’s Law Office, approves annexation agreement, and approves agreement with AES Ohio Did.
The moratorium on flex building applications within Tipp City is a topic the City Council has discussed numerous times. The ordinance outlining the suspension was unanimously passed by the City Council on Oct. 16.
This ordinance provides a temporary ban on flex buildings for 180 days to allow city staff to properly review and recommend flex building applications within Tipp city limits.
The certified contract with the Miami County Public Defender is approved annually by the City of Tipp.
This contract is to provide legal services to the poor residents of Tipp City. The contract costs approximately $4,885 per year.
The City Council also approved an annexation agreement with Monroe Township. The owner of a property located at 1400 W. Main Street has requested that the approximately 1.417-acre property be annexed to the City of Tipp City.
Annexing this land brings recently acquired land within the city limits.
The City Council then authorized the city to enter into an agreement with AES Ohio (also known as Dayton Power and Light Company) to provide a public easement for electrical line construction on property jointly owned by Tipp, Huber Heights, and Vandalia. • Introduced an ordinance to remove language regarding the Mayor’s Court from the City of Tipp’s codified ordinances.
• Passed two motions regarding interim zoning for Kessler-Cowlesville Roads 59 and 85 and South County Road 25A at 4025. The annexation of both properties to Tipp City is scheduled to be considered by the Legislature in December 2023, and the Legislature will approve the tentative zoning classification as a highway project, as it will set a precedent for the zoning classification of the annexed properties.
