Many people have asked about the work being done at the former La Hacienda/former Backyard Burger located at 3136 Ambassador Cafery.
This is the contract. We did some research and hit a wall. The building belongs to a company called Rocket 87, according to local permits and filings with the Louisiana Secretary of State.
DL guys, what is Rocket 87? Damn it. What should I do if I find out? We did all the creepy stalking on Facebook and his IG using the owner’s name and company name and came up with nothing. The owner’s name starts with X and ends with Chen. I won’t reveal his full name, but the owner is clearly of Asian descent. So we’re pretty confident it’s not just another Mexican restaurant.
You may be wondering. Did I bother to go to the property and ask the person working there what it was? Indeed…I did it twice! For the first time, the workers who painted the building this dark red and black color seemed to do their best to avoid interacting with me. And today, after making sure there were no cars in the parking lot, I went to the property to take the latest photos of the paint job. Sorry, but I sometimes get nervous when I creep around a building taking photos like a creep and thinking I might have to talk to someone on the premises. 🤣🤷🏼♂️ But there was someone there! When this Asian persuasion guy comes along, we obviously don’t speak the same language. I asked the kind gentleman, “What business is this?” He answered “No”.
I have no intention of giving up on the search for solid answers. But for now, this is what we have. Sometimes it’s not the destination that matters, but the journey to get there.
