Mitchell Main Street and Beyond’s annual Trick-or-Treat will be held downtown on Saturday, October 28th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Main Street in Mitchell. During those hours, the Mitchell Area Community Theater, 700 N. Main St., will host a free lighted version of Haunted Theater in the afternoon. The lights-out version will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. Admission is $10, with proceeds going to the Support Our Stage fundraiser.
The Mitchell Public Library, located at 211 N. Duff St., will host a Crafternoon Pumpkin Painting event on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 3 to 4:45 p.m. The event is free. An adult craft night to make wine cork pumpkins will be held at the library on Monday, October 30th from 5:00pm to 7:45pm. This is a free event that requires registration. The Mitchell Area Optimist Club will be hosting a Halloween movie featuring The Addams Family on Saturday, October 28th. Doors open at Logan Luxury Theater at 9:30 a.m. and show begins at 10 a.m. The event is free and includes free snacks. After the movie, donations of granola bars, fruit snacks, or juice boxes will be accepted for the Mitchell Snack Pack program.
Edgewood is inviting everyone to come out and trick-or-treat this Halloween from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 501 E. Spruce St. in Mitchell. If you have any questions, please contact us at 605-996-2730.
Two truck-or-treat events will be held on Saturday, October 28th. Stop by Barr Street Plaza from 3pm to 6pm to pick up merchandise from Fisher Rounds, Dobesh Chiropractic, Anytime Fitness, Custom Touch Homes and other participating businesses. Eat some sweet treats, do some tricks and show off your best costume. The annual Truck-or-Treat will be held at Mitchell Middle School from 4 to 5:30 p.m., for children 2nd Great and below. In partnership with Horsepower, the Phobia Haunted Trail will be held October 27-29 from 7-10 p.m. Walk the haunted trails at Reclamation Ranch, located at 40787 259th St., and raise money for Horsepower Support. The cost to attend the event is $15 per person.
Dakota Wesleyan University will host a Trek-or-Treat event on Friday, October 27th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Travel around DWU’s campus and look for candy, games, and photo frames at student-run booths. Admission is free, but the Mitchell Caring Closet collects non-perishable food donations.
A Halloween party will be held on Monday, Oct. 30, at the James Valley Community Center, 300 W. First Avenue in Mitchell. Please wear your costume to the 11:30 a.m. rally. Free for members, $1 for guests.
