When announcing holiday programs, Walmart typically has Black Friday plans in place by mid-October. In 2022, the company promoted the return of its month-long Black Friday Deals for Days event on October 19th. Last year, its release took place on October 18th. And in 2020, it was suddenly held on October 14th.
As of Wednesday, October 25th, major retailers have not yet received any information regarding Black Friday 2023. But an upcoming sale on Walmart’s website might be an indication that it’s not that far away.
What you need to know about Black Friday 2023: The first early sales arrive in late October
The unnamed sale, advertised in a banner at the top of Walmart.com’s homepage at the time of this writing, is a “can’t-miss deal” with early access starting at 12:00 PM ET for paying members of Walmart+. ” to be plugged in. It will be open again to all shoppers at 2:00 PM ET. Last we checked, there were only five hot deals listed, including cheap knockoffs on the LG Stick Vacuum Cleaner, RC Buggy, and GE Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker. Most of them are from third-party sellers, so it’s best to avoid them.
The format of this “Early Access for Paid Walmart+ Members” is reminiscent of Walmart’s past Black Friday Days for Days events, as is the glittery blue branding that accompanies the sale’s landing page. It wouldn’t be a total shock if this event was tied in with Walmart’s long-awaited official Black Friday rollout at this point.
