Cool Springs’ Walmart 272 store was transformed Friday morning with a festive celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the newly renovated store’s reopening.
Walmart has stores throughout Williamson County and Middle Tennessee, but customers and Walmart leaders know there’s something special about Store No. 272. Its manager, Nechibulan Abdullatif, is regarded by both employees and employers as an exceptional leader who runs the store with respect. .
“In our area [with over 100 stores], Netibran’s leadership is at its brightest,” said Regional Vice President Jason Schwindt. “The way he treats his team and the way he treats the community behind him is completely different than anything I’ve ever seen.”
When Abdullatif took over as store manager about a year ago, he worked to build good relationships with employees and create a better working and shopping environment.
“Back then, the mission was to make the store attractive to all employees. This is where the magic really happens, because if you win the people, you win the store,” he said.
Although Abdullatif’s team and stores have grown since he took over, he credits his personal success to the support of his wife, Nalin, and Walmart as a company. Abdullatif, a high school dropout, never imagined he would be able to run a “$120 million supercenter,” he said.
“It’s a real honor to work for a company like Walmart,” he said. “They give you opportunities that you would never see.”
The store’s influential leadership and new innovations in infrastructure and organization are a testament to Walmart’s mission.
“You are the best example of the Walmart brand today,” Schwindt said.
State Rep. Gino Balso went so far as to describe the store as a piece of Americana, saying, “Young people are coming after us, and with the kind of innovation you see in this store, we’re making a difference to our country.” Our community is in great shape.”
