It’s going to be a spooky weekend in Pittsburgh, with plenty of festivals and costume contests. On the last weekend of October, grab your candy bags and costumes and head out to one of his not-so-scary family events.
October 26th (Thursday) Square Cafe Charity Pumpkin Carving Night, From 5pm to 7:30pm
Start your weekend early square cafe Annual charity pumpkin carving party. This event benefits Big Brother, Big Sister. The colorful and charming East Liberty Cafe hasn’t hosted the time-honoured tradition since the pandemic. Enjoy complimentary snacks and cider. A gourmet coffee bar also sells seasonal drinks. He recommends donating $10 per pumpkin, or $25 for families of four or more. However, you only pay for the pumpkin you eat, so any amount is welcome.
Friday, October 27: Sensory-friendly trick-or-treating at Carnegie Museum of Natural History, 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Carnegie Museum of Natural History offers Halloween trick-or-treating that supports the senses. The museum’s galleries will reduce audio and visual elements to create quiet spaces with supporting materials. Enjoy stories around a fake campfire, meet scaly live animal ambassadors, and go trick-or-treating inside the museum at this event for all ages and abilities. Please expect that. Registration is $16.
Saturday, October 28: Halloween Fun Cruise, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Gateway Clipper Fleet hosts a Halloween revelry that will captivate children.older children halloween fun cruise Interact with celebrity characters, dance, play games, and enjoy snacks. Cruise tickets are $20 for children and $32 for adults.
Saturday, October 28: Haunted Hat Tea and Tour at Heartwood Acres, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wear your favorite funny or scary hat and enjoy a delicious three-course tea in Heartwood Mansion’s eerily elegant Great Hall, followed by a tour of the park’s grand mansions on October 21st or 28th. Vote for the most creative hat. Prizes will be awarded for the best hats. Perfect for ages 12 and up. Registration For Allegheny County residents, it’s $33.
Saturday, October 28: Audacity Pittsburgh PetFest, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Audacy PittsburghFive radio stations are hosting PetFest ’23 at Stage AE on the North Shore. The event will feature a pet costume contest, photos with Santa, activities for dogs and humans, various vendors and pet rescue efforts.find all details here. The cost is $10 per person.
Saturday, October 28: Super Science Saturday Giveaway Boothium, 12:00pm to 4:00pm
The Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s October Super Science Saturday episode returns to the season’s favorite bootheum this weekend. Costumes are encouraged for nature-themed Halloween celebrations, including seasonal activities, scavenger hunts, and goody bags with prizes. Registration It is free with museum admission.
Saturday, October 28: Pumpkinpalooza at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

On the North Shore, Shorty’s offers family-friendly pub fare, bowling, games and lots of fun. This weekend will include a costume contest, a tarot card reading by Charlotte the Paranormal, a dance party, and more. The courtyard turns into a cemetery. The children’s costume contest will be held at 2 p.m., and the pet and adult contests will be held at 4 p.m. and midnight.
Saturday, October 28: After sunset, the park’s Halloween movies will show “Hocus Pocus”
Is it okay not to watch “Hocus Pocus” even though it’s Halloween? Allegheny County Parks I’ll give you a free gift this Saturday Settlers Cabin Park Moccasin Shelter. Please bring a blanket and hot chocolate. It will be a chilly and spooky night.

Enjoy daytime trick-or-treating at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium on the last weekend of October. Show off your costumes in the Halloween parade and compete for prizes. Check out the zoo animals enjoying their own Halloween treats. Zoo Boo activities are included below. Zoo admission fee.
