Illyria South Baseball Club will be hosting two events this weekend.
The first step is to register for the winter baseball clinic, according to a news release.
Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 28 at the Illyria Public Library System South Library (340 15th St.).
The release says all youth are welcome.
The Illyria Service Club will also be hosting the Illyria South Baseball Club’s 3rd Annual Trunk on October 29th from 4-6 p.m. in the Illyria YWCA parking lot at Holly Lane and Fourth Street. – We plan to unite for or treat.
Youth in the 5th Ward neighborhood will receive hot dogs, apples, hot chocolate, candy and mini pumpkins, according to the release.
The event was sponsored by the Illyria South Baseball Club, First United Methodist Church, Illyria Kiwanis Club, Illyria Rotary Club, Illyria Public Library System and YWCA, according to a release.
Holly Lane will be closed to traffic, according to the release.
The Illyria Public Library System will be giving away books and young people will be able to see the Illyria Fire Department’s fire engines up close, according to the release.
“While all children are welcome to participate, only vehicles affiliated with the organizing organization will be able to participate in the candy distribution,” event organizer Aric Bowens said in a release.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, Trunk-or-Treat will be held inside the YWCA building.
