Affidavit provides new insight into the Round Rock Walmart shooting and the kidnapping and subsequent death of 30-year-old Sean Joseph earlier this month, allegedly at the hands of Lois DeFranklin Loggins. It details the events that led up to it.
Loggins, 31, is currently charged with aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping in connection with the shooting, and more charges may be forthcoming.
According to the affidavit, the investigation began when officers with the Round Rock Police Department spotted a suspicious vehicle in the Walmart parking lot at 4700 E. Palm Valley Blvd. Blood, a cell phone, earphones and a .45 caliber shell casing were found at the scene.
The car’s registered owner told police that Joseph, who was delivering food for DoorDash, was using the car on the night of Oct. 5. On the night of October 6, a ping from Loggins’ cell phone led authorities to America’s Best Value and Suites in Haltom City, Texas, where local police found Loggins’ car with visible blood stains. Loggins was arrested as he left his hotel room carrying two handguns, one of which matched the caliber of shell casings found at the crime scene, according to court documents.
During questioning, Loggins admitted to meeting Joseph at Walmart the night of the incident, according to the affidavit.
Joseph’s body was discovered on October 17th in rural Milam County.
