As AI has come into the spotlight, companies have found themselves having to strike a difficult balance between promoting the use of this innovative technology while allaying fears about AI’s impact on the world.
July will feature some of the biggest names in the AI world. Amazon, Google, meta, microsoft and OpenAI — agreed to a series of commitments made by the White House to ensure the “safe, secure and transparent” development of AI technologies.now walmart is entering the fray by announcing its own Responsible AI Pledge, which sets out how to ethically deploy new AI technologies.
“AI is embedded throughout our business, from how we personalize and improve the experience for our customers, members, and employees, to how we source inventory through our supply chain and more,” Walmart’s Digital Citizen said Nuala O’Connor, Senior Vice President and Chief Counsel, Ship. she said in an Oct. 17 blog post. “As the pace of innovation accelerates and more sophisticated AI models are integrated into our business, it is important that the people we serve feel confident and comfortable in how they use our technology. is.”
Walmart’s new Responsible AI Pledge includes: Six promise:
