TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — update: After a Walmart on Terre Haute’s east side was evacuated due to a bomb threat, Terre Haute police confirmed that customers and employees can re-enter the building.
THPD posted that the building was extensively searched and later determined to be safe for re-entry.

Originall: Customers and staff have been evacuated from a Walmart on Terre Haute’s east side as law enforcement investigates a bomb threat.
Terre Haute Police Sergeant Justin Sears confirmed the evacuation of the building on SR 46. Sears said the evacuation was done as a precaution after reports of a threat.
WTWO’s David Shepherd confirmed that Terre Haute Police and Terre Haute Fire Departments responded to the scene. Shepherd also confirmed that the store was still evacuated as of 2 p.m.
THPD officers are investigating the situation. No other information is being released at this time. The public is asked to avoid the area.
