A new Life360 survey shows that, overall, Americans view location sharing as a positive thing, with 89% of Americans saying location sharing has benefited their lives, and Gen Z This has increased overwhelmingly to 94%, indicating that younger generations are pioneering the adoption of location sharing.

Gen Zers, ages 11 to 26, say they use family location sharing apps to feel more secure. Life360 downloads have doubled in the US since 2021. The app currently has more than 33 million monthly active users in the United States and another 20 million internationally. Additionally, more teens are using Apple’s Find My, Google’s Family Link, Snapchat’s Snap Map, and GPS-enabled smartwatches to share their location.
Gen Z respondents to a recent Life360 survey said they share their location when driving, going on a date, attending a concert or other large gathering. Many have location sharing turned on all the time.
