“Let’s Be Frank” Bird Library Exhibition
Would you like to get in the Halloween mood? The Byrd Library’s newest exhibit, curated by Cary Ford, Edward Gokey, and Stephen Singer, focuses on Frankenstein. Explore different interpretations of characters over time and what those representations mean in historical context. The exhibit opened on October 20th and will be on display until November 15th.
“Wings of Glass” reception & gallery talk
The SU Museum of Art has opened a new exhibit titled “Wings of Glass: The Works on Paper of Richard Coppe” by guest curator Theresa Moir Engelbrecht. Engelbrecht will speak about her own work with SU Museum of Art staff, and cocktails and light refreshments will be provided. A reception will be held on October 25th from 6pm to 8pm.
Steve Brodner Lecture
In the latest installment of the School of Art’s Visiting Artist Lecture Series, the School welcomes Steve Brodner. He is an illustrator, caricaturist, journalist, and political commentator who has received awards from the Society of Illustrators, Art Directors Club, Society of Publishing Designers, and more. His speech will be held at the Shafer Arts Building on October 26th from 6:30pm to 8pm.
Morton Schiff Jazz Ensemble
Curious about the Setnor School of Music’s choral program? The Morton Schiff Jazz Ensemble performs a variety of concerts throughout the year and performs a set on Fridays in the Shafer Arts Building.The concert is Oct. 27 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Mariposa State Forest Backpacking Trip
For nature lovers, SU is hosting an overnight backpacking trip this Saturday and Sunday. Participants will be provided with all necessary equipment and transportation will be provided. This trip takes place in Mariposa State Forest, about an hour southeast of SU. The trip departs on October 28th at 10am and returns on October 29th at 3pm.
Hiking Clark Reservation State Park
To access nature a little closer to campus, take a trip to SU’s Clark Reservation State Park. With a lake, fall foliage, and a variety of trails for hikers of all levels, this park is an easy way to see nature without going far from campus.Day hikes will be held on Saturdays from 12:00pm to 3:00pm
