MONTGOMERY AND CLARK COUNTIES — National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will be held next Saturday, Oct. 28, when two local sheriff’s offices will collect drugs for safe disposal.

The Montgomery and Clark County Sheriff’s Offices organized an event for area residents to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs, according to Facebook posts from both departments.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will hold the event at the Harrison Township Substation, located at 5945 North Dixie Drive, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to the post, biohazardous substances and illegal drugs will not be accepted.
Acceptable items include needles, liquids, non-narcotic, narcotic, over-the-counter medications, herbs, and veterinary drugs.
Needles and liquids will only be accepted during the event period and residents will not be able to drop them off at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office drug drop box, which is available year-round.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has two locations available for area residents to safely dispose of unused or unwanted drugs.
Locations include the Springview Front parking lot at 3130 East Main Street and the Tecumseh High School parking lot at 1000 West National Road.
Both will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a Facebook post.
Participants can leave their medication in the bottle while in their car if they wish.
