If you live in or around Clinton or Center County, there are plenty of fun events happening this weekend.

clinton county events
— Heaven’s Wicked Wine Fest (Castanea Fire Company Picnic Grounds) 12:00pm to 5:00pm Rain or shine. More than 10 wineries will be uncorking bottles for wine tastings. — Kaydin Miller, Crystal Ott and Abigail Zimmerman will host a trunk-or-treat as a senior project in the Central Mountain High School parking lot on Oct. 21 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. There will be decorated trunks, food, games and prizes. Children vote for their favorite decorated trunk, and winners receive gift cards to places like Walmart and Dunkin’. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the United Way.
— Spook Haven Haunted Attraction, 100 Danis Street, Mill Hall, every Friday and Saturday in October from 7 to 10 p.m. Attractions include the Last Rites Hospital/Psych Ward, Sick Sense, and Bizarre Evil Nightmares (BEN) High School attractions. Tickets are $13 for one attraction, $20 for two, or $25 for all three. Tickets can be purchased online at spookhaven.com or with cash only at the door. There is also an ATM at the venue for you to use.
— Christmas in the Burns will be held at the Clinton County Fairgrounds both Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fairground barn will have food, raffles, Santa and lots of craft stalls. Rain or shine! Free admission, free parking.
Center County Events
— Howard Fire Company’s annual Punkin Chunkin Fall Festival will be held Saturday at Bald Eagle State Park near Howard from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will feature nearly 100 local craft and food vendors, rides, games and activities, and a pumpkin pie tour. contests etc. This festival is completely free of parking and admission fees. Money donated during the festival will go toward supporting Howard Fire Company #14 and future Punkin Chunkin Fall Festivals.
— “Out Run Hunger” 5k, race starts at 10am. It begins and ends at Big Spring Spirits in Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte. Late and same-day registration is $30. The race is dog and stroller friendly. Awarded in the gender and age categories. Come rain or shine!
— Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy, an immersive experience at Pine Grove Hall. From October 19th to 21st. Reserved seating for dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., and cocktails and small plates begin at 6:30 p.m. General admission to the show is $35 — seating is limited. Join Prospero and his friends as they create an unforgettable and enchanting evening watching Edgar Allan Poe’s works, including The Tell Tale Heart, The Wicked Goblin, and The Cask of Amontillado. — Back Porch String Band will hold its monthly country jam on Sunday, October 22nd at the Earrick Center (Howard Fire Hall). You can bring your instrument and strum it, or just sit back and enjoy the music. Bring snacks and enjoy some toe-tapping, clapping music from 2 to 6 p.m. Funds raised for the Howard Fire Company will be passed into donation baskets.
