The Fairmont Football Tailgate, sponsored by Hawkins Chevrolet, will be held tonight, Oct. 18, from 5:15 to 7 p.m. at Mahoney Field at Fairmont Junior/Senior School. We offer roast beef and turkey sandwiches, potato salad, and football cookies. It costs only $7. All supporters of Fairmont His Football are welcome.
Author Allen Eskens visits Jackson County Library
Meet Minnesota author Allen Eskens this October at the Jackson County Library System. He is the best-selling author of his eight books and has won the Barry Award, Minnesota Book Award, Rosebud Award (Left Coast Crime), Silver Falchion Award, Edgar Award, Thriller Award, and Anthony Award. He has also been selected as a final candidate. . His books have been translated into his 26 languages.
He is scheduled to visit the Jackson County Library System on Friday, October 20th, starting at the Heron Lake Library at 1 p.m., visiting the Lakefield Library at 4 p.m., and ending the day at the Jackson Library at 7 p.m. Books are available for purchase. By signing at the event, attendees will be entered into a drawing to win his latest release, Saving Emma. Anyone can participate, so please come and join us. Registration is not required. 55 Alive Driving Course begins
State Farm agent Mark Fujan will host a free 55+ defensive driving course on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Knights of Columbus Hall in the Fairmont. Class times are 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Please register in advance. Seats are limited, so if you are interested, please call us as soon as possible. Halloween Craft Tuesday at Truman Library
