To celebrate the start of planting season in the Pacific Northwest, the Green Burien Partnership will host several environmental restoration events at Burien Park this fall. And they’re looking for volunteers.
All events are open to the public, kid-friendly, and no experience necessary.
Refreshments, gloves, and equipment will be provided at each event.
All events require pre-registration.

- when: Saturday, October 21, 2023, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- where: Hill top park2600 S 128th Street
- what: Celebrate the 4th annual Green Burien Day with the City of Burien, EarthCorps, employment partners, and the King Conservancy at Hilltop Park. We will work together to plant hundreds of native plants while enjoying live music. This event is open to anyone, no experience required.
Weeding and planting in Hazel Valley Park

- what: Join EarthCorps in Burien City and Hazel Valley Park for a fun and informative environmental restoration event. We remove invasive weeds, plant trees, protect the earth’s natural resources, and create opportunities to talk about the role people play in building community with each other. We’ll teach you everything you need to know about tool use, safety, forest health, and the importance of the work you’re about to do. No experience required. Get ready to learn something new!
Tree planting at Dottie Harper Park

- what: Thanks to the hard work of local volunteers, a space has been cleared of weeds and it’s time to replant. We grow our plants thanks to grants from the community. We will be planting native trees, shrubs, and other understory plants in areas that have been cleared of weeds by our hard-working volunteers. This event is open to anyone, no experience required.
