WATERTOWN — Samaritan Medical Center announced Tuesday that a recent campaign supported by Walmart and Sam's Club stores in the tri-county area raised $107,857 to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
The campaign to help local children in need, which ran from June 10 to July 7, was the result of generous support from community members, Walmart and Sam's Club stores in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties, according to a statement from Samaritan.
The Children's Miracle Network of Northern New York uses donations to support Samaritan's pediatric equipment and projects, as well as provide financial assistance to families with children facing a medical crisis, helping with out-of-pocket medical expenses such as transportation, copayments and equipment not covered by insurance.
“This campaign is a testament to the generous spirit of our community, and the funds will help countless children facing health challenges,” Angie VanWormer, director of Samaritan Medical Center's Children's Miracle Network, said in a statement from Samaritan. “All money raised stays local, ensuring North Country children have access to the best medical care. We're grateful to the community for helping make this campaign a success.”
Samaritan expressed its sincere gratitude to Walmart and Sam's Club for their partnership and commitment to the community, saying their support allows Samaritan to continue providing critical care to children in the area.
