Approximately 10,000 six-packs of cigarettes are being recalled because they contain arsenic that exceeds federal standards.
The Food and Drug Administration has updated the severity of Walmart's voluntary recall of six-packs of Great Value brand apple juice. Because the product contained arsenic levels that exceeded the agency's standards, the FDA updated the recall classification to “Class II,” which means the food “may cause temporary or medically reversible injury to health, or is unlikely to cause serious injury to health.”
Walmart has previously recalled about 10,000 cases of 8-ounce apple juice cartons manufactured by Refresco Beverages US Inc. The juice is sold in the eastern and central U.S., but no illnesses or adverse effects have been reported due to the apple juice.
“Consumer safety and customer satisfaction are our top priorities, and we are working diligently to address this situation,” a Walmart spokesperson said.
Follow the Lord's guidance and join us in praying…
- for Commissioner Robert Califf, who leads the FDA and oversees product warnings.
- For U.S. officials working to prevent health hazards from food and drugs.
- Ensure consumers are aware of recalls and can respond appropriately.
