NEGAUNEE — The City of Negaunee will host its first annual Fall Festival event in September to celebrate local businesses and foster community.
Fall Fest, which recently received sponsorship approval from the Negaunee Downtown Development Authority, will feature events such as cornhole, pony rides, tractor hayrides, music, a special farmers market and an inflatable obstacle course.
This event is family friendly and may include evening activities for adults. “The idea came from a few business owners who hosted separate events last fall.” Mayor Nate Heffron said.
Heffron said this will be an attempt to consolidate individual events into one day for maximum impact.
Downtown and local businesses will also be hosting a variety of on-site activities downtown, which will be announced on the City of Negaunee website in the coming weeks. Additional updates can be found at cityofnegaunee.com/node/1/news as they become available.
The event will be held in downtown Negaunee on Sept. 28 from noon to 5 p.m.
