Until now, Walmart shoppers have never had to worry about…
…But now things have changed, and it's up to shoppers and customers to prepare. Remember the days when you didn't have to worry, when you could find a friendly employee who would take the stress out of picking up a coupon or two that was a little out of date? Those days are long gone.
Don't think you can make your case at Walmart.
The limits have changed, and you'd better get used to it. According to Coupon News, “The new policy changes bring Walmart's coupon policy in line with other retailers, eliminating overages, putting limits on similar coupons, and not ignoring cashiers if coupons are rejected. Because Walmart hadn't changed its coupon policy in nearly six years, it barely drew any attention when the policy rolled out some changes online last month. People started taking notice after an image began circulating in an online coupon group that appeared to be an internal memo informing store associates that their cash register software had been updated this week and that the new policy would be applied automatically.”
Their new policy states very clearly:
“If the coupon amount is greater than the purchase amount of the item, Walmart will not give you cash back and will not apply the excess amount to the remaining items in the transaction.” Now you know what to be prepared for the next time you go to your local Walmart. Double and triple check your coupons before you leave the house.
