Tree dedication…Dr. Tom Stuckey (NSCC Chair Emeritus), Bonnie Stuckey, Sandra Barber (NSCC Board Chair), and Dr. Todd Hernandez (NSCC President).
ARCHBALD, Ohio – The Northwest State Community College Board of Trustees held its regularly scheduled meeting at the Archbald campus on Friday, August 23. As part of the meeting, the Board approved revised Institutional/General Education Learning Outcomes (ILOs).
Definition of ILOS – Lifelong Learners
The ILO states that Northwest State Community College graduates become professionals, lifelong learners and responsible global citizens by achieving the following outcomes:
A. Communications
-Create effective written communications
– Develop communication skills beyond written form
B. Critical thinking/creative thinking
-Evaluate and use resources appropriately
– Use problem-solving strategies to draw conclusions or find solutions
C. Quantitative Reasoning/Reading Comprehension
-Apply mathematical problem-solving skills
– Interpret and communicate quantitative results (verbally, graphically, in writing, etc.).
D. Ethical Responsibilities in a Diverse Society
– Analyze the ethical implications of individual actions.
– Recognize the complexities of diverse identities and their impact on the equity of historical, social, economic, or political systems.
Bonnie Stuckey Honored with Tree Dedication
Bonnie Stuckey was also honored for her nearly 30 years of contributions to the campus with a tree being dedicated on the east side of campus.
Stuckey has contributed to the beautification of the campus by maintaining the many flowers planted around campus, a selfless act that has been greatly appreciated by the Board of Trustees and the campus community.
During the surprise dedication, Board Chair Sandra Barbour thanked Stuckey for his work, and Stuckey also thanked past members of the NSCC community for their support and service.
Other Board action:
– Approved the hiring of Ethan Eberly (part-time marketing and communications assistant), Jeffrey Dupureur (first shift custodian), Aaron Hess (training coordinator – mechanical and fluid power/Maumee), Tim Lucas (maintenance technician), Brad Poeth (training coordinator – mechanical and fluid power/Van Wert), Cynthia Zdanczyk-Westhoven (psychology faculty member), Nicole Schwab (nursing faculty member), and Zachory Tucker (second shift custodian).
– Approved the transfer of Dennis Hartley to clerk in the Bookstore/Retail and Food Services department.
-Other employment agreements approved.
– Three resignations and one retirement were approved.
