Wouldn’t it be great if there was an app that could give you all the important information about your Flatpak app and the tools to manage it?
Well, you’re in luck this time!
This time, I would like to introduce an interesting app called “”.Warehouse‘ that Helps you manage your Flatpak apps.
We have featured similar apps in the past.flat seal”, which is intended for managing permissions in Flatpak.
Let’s take a look at what Warehouse has to offer.
Warehouse: Overview ⭐
It was named “”versatile toolboxAccording to the developers, Warehouse can be used for: Manage Flatpak user data, View information about Flatpak,Furthermore Batch manage Flatpak installed on your system.
It is mainly written below Python programming languageand has the following main features:
- Manage user data easily
- Batch action function
- Cleaning up leftover data
First impression 👨💻
I started testing Warehouse on my Ubuntu setup. It was easy to install from flat hub.
When I opened it, I saw a list of everything. Installed Flatpak apps. These were all neatly arranged in an ordered list.
In my opinion, it would look even better if they added the option to switch to a grid layout.
📋
Then we moved on. Check Flatpak app propertiesI clicked the “Info” logo next to the app to open the app’s properties window.
We were provided with all kinds of information about the app, starting from. name, explanation, app ID, all the way until active commit And that Installation size.
Similarly, if you click on the “trash can” icon, Completely uninstall the Flatpak appor Retain user data Restore settings/content for future reinstallation.
In the warehouse, Search function This allows you to search for specific apps. This is useful if you have a lot of Flatpak apps installed.
Just click the magnifying glass in the top left of the app to get started.
you can also Set filter to Sort apps or runtimes What the system needs to perform various tasks.
Click the “funnel” logo in the top left to start filtering.
Then I looked Batch action function. First, click on the “check mark” logo in the top right corner of the app.
You can then select multiple apps and perform actions such as: Copy information, Delete app dataand uninstall them.
Three small buttons at the bottom right of the app make it easy to do all of the above.
We then moved on to the burger menu with some key options.
The first one’Install from file Thanks to that I was able to Install Flatpak apps using “.flatpakref” files.
During the installation, I was asked if I wanted to install it for a specific user or for everyone who uses the system. I chose the latter.
Next, I looked at “”.Managing remaining data‘Optional. Now you know how much data your old Flatpak app left behind.
I was able to use the “Install” option to reinstall the app and recover data, or use the “Trash” option to completely remove traces of the app from the system. The leftover data may take up a lot of space.
People who keep installing and deleting apps on a regular basis may end up with a large amount of data left behind.
If you want to manage your Flatpak repository, seeRemote control management‘ option allows you to add or remove them.
You can do this through the Software Center in Fedora and other distributions, but having everything you need in one app feels like a seamless experience.
And finally, there are a lot of “”.keyboard shortcuts‘ You can use the keyboard to operate all features of the app.
