Good news, Android users! One of the best iOS apps released this year is finally coming to Android.
The app in question is Arc Search. Developed by the company that made the Arc Browser web browser for Mac and Windows, Arc Search is a mobile browser that focuses on simple, straightforward browsing, with a touch of AI thrown in.
Since its launch in January of this year, Arc Search has only been available for iPhones, but it looks like that will soon change. On Threads, the official Arc account recently posted, “Arc Search is coming to Android,” along with a screen recording of the Arc Search app running on an Android phone.
While there are certainly a ton of web browsers available for Android, Arc Search is something special. I've been using Arc Search on my iPhone for the past few months, and it's quickly become my favorite browser. Why? Because searching on Arc Search is just awesome.
When you enter a new search query in Arc Search, you can either perform a regular Google search or Browse button. In the latter case, Arc Search takes your search, analyzes hundreds of web pages, and creates a personalized web page with a detailed answer to your question, complete with helpful bullet points, relevant photos, and source links to show where the information came from. In my experience, this is a great way to quickly find answers to just about any question that comes to mind throughout the day.
Arc Search can be used like a normal web browser, but the Browse for Me feature is what really sets it apart. It also has great voice search capabilities, including Raise to Call Arc mode, which lets you hold your phone to your ear and talk to Arc Search as if it were a human.
Arc Search isn't the most customizable or feature-rich web browser, but it is one of the most efficient, and that's exactly why I love and use it so much. This browser has become one of the main reasons I use my iPhone over my Android phone, so I was very happy to learn that an Android app is coming soon.
The downside is we don't know when An Android app is due to be released, but according to a Threads post from the team, it looks like we won't have to wait too long.
