Alvernia University's Total Experience Learning® (TExpL®) Institute infuses educators with the award-winning experiential learning philosophy, the TExpL methodology. The methodology provides educators with the framework they need to take innovative approaches to learning. This hands-on approach motivates and empowers students and learners to pursue their interests and passions while meeting today's expansive learning standards. Learners develop confidence and personal agency as they see their work come to life, while positively influencing and collaborating with members of their local community.
Total Experience Learning, which joined the Alvernia community in July 2024, is designed to revitalize the curriculum while supporting effective instruction through advanced project management training. TExpL creates personalized learning experiences that allow educators and administrators to engage in transferable strategies through collaboration and co-construction of knowledge.
With more than 80 supporting organizations across the United States, TExpL is committed to its mission to revolutionize education through interdisciplinary learning experiences that encourage inquiry, ingenuity and agency, creating measurable personal success for learners and educators.
“The culture of my classroom has changed in many ways with the implementation of TExpL's Conditions for Success. Now, I introduce the methodology to my students at the beginning of each course and let them know that each of my lessons incorporates some aspect of the methodology. For example, something as simple as giving every student in the class a chance to speak on a discussion topic. Each student knows that they matter and that what they have to say counts.” — Sean Gaston, Educator, Fleetwood Area School District
