silent book club
Ditch your assigned reading at Peaks Coffee Company’s bimonthly Silent Book Club meeting on October 19th. He will be at Peaks for a one-hour silent reading, followed by a social gathering from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Readers of all levels are encouraged to enjoy coffee. Books and companies. The goal of this event is “to be the most flexible book club you’ve ever been to!” “It’s completely up to you whether you come in late, leave early, talk about what you’re reading, or don’t talk to anyone at all,” the website says.
Scholars & Champs Pop-up Shop
Upgrade your Syracuse offerings with vintage goodies at Scholars & Champs’ first pop-up on the California State University campus. Scholars & Champs will host its biggest event ever on the lower level of the Campus Store with items including vintage SU sweatshirts, T-shirts, jackets, hats, jerseys and more. The event will be held on October 20th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Spend some relaxing time with your furry friend at Pet Therapy. Pet Therapy will be held at the Barnes Center on Oct. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone with a SU or SUNY ESF student ID card is welcome to participate.
run of the dead
Grab your running shoes for the 11th annual Run of the Dead 5k race. Run for your life through wooded trails and mud while being chased by zombies. Racers receive belts like flag footballs before the race, and each flag is prepared to be pulled by a zombie. For a racer to finish the course he must complete his 5k with at least one health flag. Admission includes food, drinks, music, vendors and access to the post-race bonfire. Run of the Dead will be held on October 21st at Wonderland Forest in Lafayette. Proceeds from the race will be donated to Wilderness Search and Rescue Teams.
Syracuse Hard Cider & Donut Fall Fest
Free donuts! Bar-hopping in downtown Syracuse for the Hard Cider & Donuts Fall Fest on October 21st. His four stops – Corner Bar, Clinton Street Pub, Quarter and Gilded Club – will offer drink discounts on beer, cider, seltzer and more. The festival will be held downtown from 2 to 8 p.m. General admission tickets are sold for $32.07 and include guaranteed admission, drink specials, and access to free donuts.
