Lapier — With the 2024-25 school year fast approaching, Lapeer Community Schools leaders and principals participated in a professional development day on Aug. 12 with Dr. Jeni Donohoo.
Donohoo is a five-time bestselling author and professional learning facilitator with over 20 years of experience.
In the LCS group, Donohoo focused on collective efficacy, which refers to the shared belief that a group of individuals can accomplish a common goal, with teachers, administrators and staff working together to create a positive learning environment and improve student achievement.
Collective efficacy has a profound impact on administrators, not only enhancing their leadership effectiveness but also contributing to a vibrant education system that benefits both educators and students.
“Jenny emphasized the importance of collective efficacy and how our beliefs impact student learning,” said Michelle Bradford, LCS associate dean for curriculum and instruction. “She brought an energy to the group that supported our efforts and collaboration with teachers as we began the new school year.”
Donohoo plans to speak in Lapeer later this school year in February and March and host additional professional development days for teachers.
