BEMIDJI — Northern Exposure to Lifelong Learning will host a series of programs this fall, starting Sept. 4 and running through Nov. 6, every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with refreshments available from 9 a.m. onwards.
Classes will be held on the following dates:
- September 4: Martin Fleischhacker will speak at Bagley American Legion Post 16 on “How to Protect Yourself from Scams and Fraudulent Activities.”
- September 11: Jim and Nina Palubicki and Rick and Cheryl Morin are hosting “Where Were You on October 7, 2023?” Foston Art Center.
- September 14: This special Saturday event will be the “Curtis and Loretta Concert” at the McIntosh Community Centre starting at 1pm.
- September 18: Julie Prosser will speak at the Bagley Public Library about “Cancer: A Defining Moment.”
- September 25: Faye Dickey will speak at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook on “Refugees from the Czech Republic to the United States, Part II: Life in America.”
- October 2: Brett Byfield will speak at the chapel of Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley about his experience in a cult, leaving it and life after.
- October 9: Tim Eggebraaten will be speaking at Bagley American Legion Post 16 on “Finding Your Beat: Moving with the Rhythm of Life.”
- October 16: Bagley Fire Chief Justin Netland will speak to Bagley American Legion Post 16 on “Fire Safety: Identifying and Preventing Fires and Other Hazards in the Home.”
- October 23: Alecia Kenny will be speaking at Gonvik Community Centre on 'Life as a Viking Woman in the Viking Age'.
- November 6: Doug Auman will host two back-to-back programs at Bagley American Legion Post 16. At 9:30 a.m., Auman will present “Guess the Name of a Minnesota Town,” followed by “Going to Work: The WPA in Minnesota” at 11:15 a.m.
There is no cost to participate in the event.
NELL is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been providing quality programming to the region since 2003. Primary funding for the program comes from public and private donations, memberships and memorials, according to the release.
