Shoppers will soon see the newly renovated Longview Walmart Supercenter at 3715 Ocean Beach Highway as the long-awaited project is complete.
To celebrate the completion of the renovation, the store held a community celebration and employee recognition ceremony on September 22nd. Walmart Store Manager Bart Stalter recognized the store’s 11 original employees for their contributions to the Longview community since 2011. To commemorate the event, Walmart employee Allen Daniels sang the national anthem. Store employees celebrated the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and then invited customers inside the store for a first look at the renovations.
During the celebration, Walmart Store Manager Bart Stalter highlighted the supercenter’s transformed departments and new interactive features now available to customers, including:
• Expanding online grocery pickup for faster customer access.
• Expansion of pet and chemical divisions
• New apparel department with expanded product lineup
• Updated pharmacy and new vaccination room to improve customer service.
• New floors and signage make navigation easier
• Updated restrooms and newly added mother’s room.
“Our customers will love expanding their grocery pickup options,” said Bart Stalter, Walmart store manager. “They can now shop and pick up their groceries in just a few minutes without even getting out of their car. It’s a huge time saver.”
To strengthen Walmart’s dedication to the communities it serves, store managers have presented $8,000 in grants to local organizations including:
• $3,000 to the Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Department.
• $2,500 to Castle Rock Sheriff’s Department.
• $2,500 to Collitz 2 Fire and Rescue.
The transformation of Walmart in Longview is part of Walmart’s Signature Experience, which aims to inspire customers and enhance their in-store experience. Longview Walmart Supercenter upgrades include:
• Enabled corners: Inspiring displays are installed in the corners of certain departments to draw customers in and allow them to touch, feel and become a part of the space, allowing them to discover everything Walmart has to offer. That’s what I’m trying to do.
• Top divisions: The renovated store features displays showcasing products right out of the box to help customers imagine products that fit into their daily lives.
• Even more discovery space: Walmart has intentionally created more space for customers to explore and discover the breadth and depth of what their local stores have to offer.
• Digital touchpoints: These new touchpoints located throughout the store use QR codes and digital screens to help educate customers about the wide range of products and services Walmart offers online. For example, in Walmart’s pet area, customers can scan his QR code to find additional dog bed options, learn about Walmart’s pet insurance service options, and have a 20-pound bag of kibble delivered to their door. You can also have it delivered.
