A Williston high school student is attracting statewide attention for developing a new mobile app. Clay Nicholson, a 10th grader at Champlain Valley Union High School, was named this year’s Vermont winner by his former teacher, U.S. Rep. Becca Balint. Parliamentary App Challenge. Mr Nicholson has created his Lexi-Scan app which can help people with dyslexia. Users simply take a photo of the text they want to read, and the app identifies the image, displays it on the screen, and reads it out loud. Up to 8 different languages.

Clay Nicholson, a 10th grader at Champlain Valley Union High School, was selected as the winner of this year’s Vermont Legislature App Challenge by his former teacher, U.S. Rep. Becca Balint.
Nicholson created an app called Lexi-Scan to help people with dyslexia.
