HAVERTOWN, Pa. (CBS) — There wasn’t much activity in the pumpkin patch or corn maze due to the rain. One street was expected to be crowded with people for the Haverford First Fest music festival. rainy weather It influenced not only this event, but also other events across the region.
The sign hangs above East Eagle Road, but thanks to Mother Nature, there was no music playing Saturday night.
Dan Morris said: “I was really looking forward to coming to town and my visiting family was also really looking forward to going to the festival today, but unfortunately the weather didn’t hold out.”
The Haverford First Fest music festival honors first responders and raises money for them and other community organizations, but organizers say the event has been postponed due to rain.
“I have two young children at home and I’m trying to find something to do together on a rainy weekend. They can get a little crazy around the house, so festivals like this are “It’s a great way to get the kids outside,” said Dave Morris.
But on Saturday, rain suspended events across the Delaware Valley. In New Jersey, Creamy Acres Night of Terror has closed due to inclement weather.
The Haddonfield Music Festival was canceled, and back in Pennsylvania, the Marple Township Community Days fall festival was also cancelled.
“Especially now with the Phillies playing, we’ve noticed over the last few weeks, on rainy weekends, people are staying a little bit longer,” Jack Newman said.
Crossbar in Havertown says its business may be down a bit due to the rainy weather over the past six weekends, but it’s a different story around the corner at East Eagle Yoga.
“To me, this is great for business because people come in wanting to wander around and do something that moves their bodies, and they take yoga classes,” Jennifer Green said.
Although we can’t control the weather, many people say they hope it doesn’t rain over the next few weekends.
“We’re hoping for sunny skies again tomorrow and into next week,” Morris said.
The Haverford First Fest music festival has been postponed to Sunday. Many people yearn to listen to good music and see more people on the streets.
