The Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) will hold its regular meeting on October 19, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held virtually and is open to the public.
SBE is based on the Wyoming Department of Education’s (WDE) recommendation to approve teacher and leader evaluation systems in eight school districts based on meeting established statewide standards for the evaluation of school administrators and teachers. We plan to take action. The Board will also consider professional services agreements to facilitate approval of the 2024 Board Goals and implementation of the Alumni Profile.
The board meeting will begin with a discussion with Dr. Scott Marion, president and executive director of the National Center for Educational Assessment and Improvement. As the national leader in assessment design, Mr. Marion will consult with the Board on federal requirements and flexibilities regarding standards, assessment, and accountability.
The conference will also include presentations by Eastern Wyoming University’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program, which is supported through Perkins V funds. The presentation will cover the different degrees and certificates available in nursing, cosmetology, welding, and veterinary technology.
All SBE meetings are open to the public. Members of the public can attend the conference virtually by pre-registering here. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the meeting.
Board meeting materials are available on BoardDocs. Minutes and materials from past meetings are available on the Board’s website.
