Research has revealed that almost half of the apps on smartphones are used by their owners.
Topping the list of least used widgets is fitness software, followed closely by gaming apps and travel apps.
A survey of 2,000 smartphone owners found that food delivery apps (15%) and loyalty card apps (11%) are also gathering dust on the homepage.
So did photo and video editing, dating, and social media applications (14% each).
But it also revealed that only one in 10 adults pays enough attention to all the apps downloaded to their phone. However, on average you may have up to 39 apps stored in total.
A spokesperson for Revolut, who announced Revolut 10 to help customers stay organized and simplify their finances, said: For everyday life. From sharing bills and earning interest on savings in a joint account, to booking holiday accommodation and shopping, it can be easy to lose track of so much going on on your phone.
“We want to give people a clear view of their money without distractions.”
The study also found that adults who own a smartphone have an average of eight apps that they use only once but never delete.
Furthermore, statistics from OnePoll.com show that smartphone users admit to having a staggering 1,592 photos on their devices on average, and 11 people say their storage is full every week, if not every day. I am receiving a message from my mobile phone informing me of this.
And exactly three-quarters say they need to silence or mute apps on their phone because many apps create too many notifications.
Additionally, more than 8 in 10 (86%) think it is important to protect people from scammers. Especially in a world where everyone is online and we have so many apps downloaded to our phones.
And only 23% consider themselves “very” knowledgeable when it comes to protecting themselves online.
A Revolut spokesperson added: “When your phone is busy, you can lose control, especially when you need to be on the lookout for fraud. analyze for signs of fraud and intervene to alert customers if it detects a risk of fraud.
“When combined with study courses, you can stay one step ahead of the bad guys, one lesson at a time.”
