Microsoft has quietly released a dedicated Copilot app for Android. The new app is available on the Google Play Store and will allow you to access Microsoft’s AI-powered Copilot without the need for the Bing mobile app.discoverer neowinThe Android version of Copilot has been available for nearly a week, but the iOS version is not yet available.
Microsoft’s Copilot app on Android is very similar to ChatGPT, with access to chatbot functionality, image generation with DALL-E 3, and the ability to draft text for emails and documents. It also includes free access to OpenAI’s latest GPT-4 models, although you’ll have to pay if you use ChatGPT.
The release of the Copilot app for Android comes a little more than a month after Microsoft rebranded Bing Chat to Copilot. Microsoft initially began pushing AI within its Bing search engine earlier this year, integrating a ChatGPT-like interface into search results. Although it’s still available, Microsoft has removed the Bing Chat branding and made Copilot a standalone experience that, like ChatGPT, also exists on its own dedicated domain on copilot.microsoft.com.
Launching a mobile app for Copilot seems like the next logical step to extend this standalone Copilot experience, especially since Bing Chat Enterprise has also been rebranded to simply Copilot. There is currently no sign of an iOS version of his Copilot being released, but we expect it to be released soon. Until then, you can always access your existing Copilot features using the Bing app on your iPhone or iPad.
