2023 is over and we are setting goals for 2024. Whether it’s a fitness plan, health, or finances, many iPhone apps and accessories can help you achieve these goals. In this article, I’ll share some of my favorite iPhone apps and accessories that made a big difference for me in 2023. Surely they will help you improve your 2024.
Drink more water in 2024
Let’s start with some hardware. I know there are a lot of apps out there that help you track what you drink throughout the day, but there’s one problem with them. You have to open the app and tell it how many cups of water you drank. And usually they don’t. Don’t balance your data with the weather outside or your workout.
This is why I purchased the HidrateSpark water bottle in 2022. This is an expensive $70 water bottle that has helped me further enhance my activity and improve hydration. By accessing my health data, HidrateSpark can give you precise hydration goals, which you can change. When you exercise, you aim higher.
You can also set reminders with in-app notifications and compete against friends and strangers in case you miss your hydration goal.
Get an Apple Watch
Even though Apple has some legal issues with the latest Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, that doesn’t stop you from buying an Apple Watch. Apple Watch Series 6 and newer products are worth it.
It’s worth having a smartwatch that can track your workouts, sleep, and help you spend less time staring at your iPhone. I currently own an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and wear it on my wrist all the time. The data collected can be very useful in handling notifications, while also helping you understand whether you are taking a healthy approach. I also love using Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, and Apple Pay without my iPhone nearby.
Gentler Streak takes care of you
Gentler Streak is one of my favorite apps. It doesn’t matter whether you use the Apple Fitness app, Nike Run, Strava, or Gentler Streak itself. As long as these apps are logging data to your health app, Gentler Streak will detect your movement and provide accurate information about your workout.
Unlike Apple and its crazy activity ring goals, Gentler Streak celebrates rest days. It also analyzes your sleep status and recommends you to take a break or exercise a little harder. If you want to build fitness habits instead of setting impossible goals, this app is for you.
Gola can help you set your goals for 2024
Finally, there’s an app to help you set your goals for 2024. Gola lets you create and track six different types of goals with customizable widgets and reminders to help you stay on track.
- Single Goal → This is a common single-task goal (e.g. learn a new skill)
- Sub-objectives → You will need to complete multiple objectives to complete this one.
- PROGRESS GOAL → A goal that progresses over the years (e.g. running 43KM)
- Value Goal → Same as progress, but each input must have a title and date (e.g. read 12 books)
- Open progress → This progress goal will be completed at the end of the year (e.g. swim as much as possible)
- Countdown → Set a start and end date and count down until this goal is completed (e.g. don’t drink alcohol for a month)
Gola also uses AI to provide personalized recommendations and targeted support, so you can better reach your 2024 goals.
summary
The beginning of a new year is a good time to reflect on the previous year and think about what can be improved. Although not set in stone, it’s always worth setting goals to improve your happiness.
