When we are young, it seems like everyone dreams of marrying the perfect person. We think that if they just fall into our laps, life will end perfectly happily.
Spoiler alert! In many cases, this is not the case.
Let’s be honest: Meeting people and making connections can be difficult, especially if you’re not the type of person who goes to bars or actively looks for dates.
And even those who enjoy it may not find their knight in shining armor.
So what do you do when you’re having trouble finding love? Well, a lot of times we end up relying on dating apps. And unfortunately, those of us here in New Jersey tend not to be so lucky.
According to research by The Matchmaking Company, 1 in 10 New Jersey residents use a dating app most never Matches with anyone. Yes, that’s right. And yes, if it seems crazy, it’s because it actually is.
It’s not like there are only occasional matches, it’s not like there’s only one match every few months. Jersey is a tough group, right?
On average, New Jersey swipers go through 15 profiles before swiping right.
Here are the criteria New Jersey Swipers most commonly use when using dating apps:
Attractive looks, interesting profile and common interests. The biggest deal breaker was not being attracted to that person.
They all seem to check out. There has to be some level of physical attractiveness. Common interests are a big factor, especially in the early stages of a relationship. When it comes to an interesting profile, think of it as something that shows someone’s personality online.
The biggest kicker?
Half of New Jerseyans surveyed by The Matchmaker Company said they rarely meet a match. Only 8% said they were able to play against him in most games.
what are we doing? Some people have a hard time matching, but what we can do is actually meet the person we match with.
