Public radio service introduces more expansive mobile app
National Public Radio is retiring the NPR One mobile app as it focuses on what it calls “a one-stop mobile app destination for the best of public radio.”
The new app, introduced on Tuesday, Dec. 13, integrates features from NPR’s previous mobile apps (NPR One and the old NPR app) and provides viewers with news updates, stories, interviews, podcasts, live radio, and headlines. Provide lines in one place.
The original NPR app was released in April 2008. The updated NPR One app was launched in 2014 as a focused effort to unify news coverage from NPR and its member stations into a “localized, on-demand experience,” according to an NPR press release. .
The NPR app now features headlines from the NPR Newsroom. A library of podcasts with hand-picked recommendations from across public radio. Access to NPR’s flagship news programs, including “Morning Edition” and “All Things Thoughted.” Local and national news flow.
