The City of Kirksville’s Planning and Zoning Commission will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m., in the council chambers of City Hall, 201 S. Franklin Street.
Durable but difficult to perform with silver rails
Acoustic guitarist and singer Hardy_But_Hardly will perform Wednesday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Silver Rails Vineyards & Winery, 100 E Benton St, La Plata.
Moose Lodge Winter Ball
The Winter Ball will be held Dec. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Royal Order of Moose Lodge, 2405 E. Illinois St., Kirksville. Meals will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. Semi-formal attire is recommended. Musicx, photo booth and games.
11th Annual Kirksville Community Christmas Dinner
The 11th Annual Kirksville Community Christmas Dinner will be held at the Kirksville Moose Lodge, 2405 E. Illinois Street, on December 17th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Drive thru only. Enter the line from Circle Drive on the east side of the building. Do not leave your car. they are approaching. When the food runs out, it will stop serving.
Christmas spirit — interactive play
Join us for this fun and interactive Christmas program from the Community Learning Center and First Church of God. In this program, viewers also have the opportunity to participate in the activities. Join them on Sunday, December 17th at 3pm at First Church of God to learn what the spirit of Christmas is all about and sing Christmas carols.
New Year’s Hike at Thousand Hills State Park
Welcome 2024 with a guided hike! Join park staff on a leisurely hike along the Redbud Trail. The hike is approximately 2 miles long through rugged terrain. They will meet at the Lakeside Redbud Trailhead on January 1, 2024 at 10am. Be sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable hiking shoes. We recommend bringing a water bottle. You’ll want to save your Christmas gift boxes and put them to good use next month. Join us for the Kids Cardboard Boat Race hosted by the Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department on Sunday, January 21st from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Children ages 5 to 16 can sign up individually or as teams of up to four to test their building skills. Participants must construct a boat structure using cardboard, duct tape, and water-based paint and attempt to cross the pool in the fastest time possible. Teams compete in age divisions based on the average age of the team and can win in multiple categories such as fastest time and best design. This event is completely free for all participants and spectators. Register now at parks.kirksvillecity.com.
