EDWARDSVILLE — Four people were charged Thursday with theft-related felonies, three of whom are suspected of stealing merchandise from a Walmart in Glen Carbon.
The lawsuits are separate, but both were filed by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Kyle R. Paul, 36, of Springfield, Illinois, was charged on Dec. 7 with retail theft over $300, a Class 3 felony.
This case was filed by the Glen Carbon Police Department.
According to court documents, Paul took more than $300 worth of personal items, cars, electronics and groceries from the Glen Carbon Walmart located in the 400 block of Junction Drive on Nov. 20.
He was ordered released from custody.
Chad Edwards, 41, of the 600 block of Brinkman Avenue, Edwardsville, was charged with retail theft over $300, a Class 3 felony.
This case was filed by the Glen Carbon Police Department.
According to court documents, Edwards took dog food, dog accessories and more than $300 worth of groceries from the Glen Carbon Walmart in the 400 block of Junction Drive on Nov. 18.
He was ordered released from custody.
Eric L. Lacey, 55, of the 1100 block of Central Avenue, Alton, was charged with theft, a third-degree felony.
This case was filed by the Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, Lacey received siding and windows worth between $500 and $10,000 from someone on Oct. 27.
He was ordered released from custody.
Ronald A. Evans, 34, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, was charged with Retail Theft Under $300 (Second Offense), a Class 4 Felony.
This case was filed by the Glen Carbon Police Department.
On Nov. 3, Evans took various items valued at less than $300 from the Glen Carbon Walmart in the 400 block of Junction Drive, according to court documents. It is noted that he has a prior conviction for robbery in Franklin County, Ohio in 2016.
He was ordered released from custody.
These individuals have only been charged and remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Not all charges are reported.
