DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A nonprofit technology training company is offering free IT training programs to the Dayton area.
NPower Ohio has partnered with the City of Dayton and the Department of Labor to make the Tech Fundamentals program available to youth ages 18 to 26 and military personnel.
The 20-week training program begins Oct. 30 and is a registered apprenticeship program with the U.S. Department of Labor. Participants can earn certifications while learning valuable technical skills.
People with information technology experience are in high demand. This training provides people with the opportunity to start their careers.
“Ohio is quickly becoming a low-cost alternative to Silicon Valley, and Dayton is the best.”
We are poised for this growth,” said DeMarce Crawford-White, executive director of NPower Ohio. “The City of Dayton understands that to compete for the best IT and technology jobs, we need to ensure our youth have the skills for this new digital economy. The program paves the way for young people and military personnel to gain in-demand job skills.”
For the past 10 years, NPower has provided IT, cloud, and cyber training in eight U.S. states, including New York, Michigan, and California. More than 9,000 of her NPower graduates have gone on to technology careers at a variety of companies, offices, and agencies.
