Walmart makes major changes to coupon policy
Many New York consumers who have been using coupons to combat soaring food prices may be disappointed. According to Coupon in the News, Walmart recently changed its coupon policy after leaving it in place for six years. The policy change took place on September 24, 2023. The retailer said:
To help you save money and live a better life, we gladly accept valid paper manufacturer coupons from manufacturers of products sold by Walmart. These paper manufacturer coupons must be scanned at the register and must not expire according to the following guidelines:
One big change is that if the coupon discount is greater than the item, Walmart won’t give you cashback or allow you to apply the excess amount to other items in the deal. Also, a customer can no longer use more than 4 identical coupons in one day. According to Coupons In the News, one of the most important changes is the removal of overrides. At checkout he manager will not override the coupon if the scanner does not accept it.
