BEMIDJI — Apple Blossom Village will host its Winter Traditions and Winter Wonder Village event on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Rail River Folk School outdoor space, 303 Railroad St. SW.
Winter Traditions is a collaboration event between Apple Blossom and Niimi Center. Participants can stop by between noon and 3 p.m. to enjoy Indigenous games, food, crafts and stories, according to the release.
Attendees will also be able to learn more about Apple Blossom’s Scholarship Fund for Indigenous Students. This event is free and open to the public.
According to a release, Winter Wonder Village will be open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature a winter spiral walk, campfire stories, hot cocoa, kick sledding, iced candle and light displays, and a holiday in a yurt.・Features a shop.
“Stroll around the village and enjoy the lights, make or take crafts in the yurts, or buy handmade gifts made by Apple Blossom students and families,” the release reads. . “Hear a special story and enjoy a quiet walk through the Winter He Spiral starting at 4:30 p.m. Leave a candle to light the way for those who follow.”

Tickets for Winter Wonder Village can be purchased at the event venue or online at appleblossomvillage.org. Cost is $5 per person, $20 per family, children 3 and under are free. Walks and stories will take place approximately every 20 minutes starting at 4:30 p.m.
This event raises funds for the Apple Blossom Village Nature School and Summer Camp.
