Families can enjoy fall and Halloween-themed activities at Knokke Knolls Nature Center during Spooky Creatures Month, Monday through Saturday, through Oct. 31. Self-guided activities exploring spiders, bats, crows and snakes are also available. Plus, your kids can also take part in an indoor Her Creepy Critters scavenger hunt to win fun prizes.
Knokke Knolls Nature Center will host a naturalist-led hike for adults on Tuesday, October 24th at 10am. Then, to learn more about the area’s owls, join us for an adult owl wander with a naturalist on Saturday, November 11th at 5pm. , meet on the deck of Knokke Nords Nature Center. Registration for these programs is $5 for Naperville Park District residents and $10 for non-residents and can be completed online at www.napervilleparks.org.
The Halloween Happening, presented by Woody Buick/GMC, will be held at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion on Sunday, October 29th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This free event is designed for kids ages 10 and under and features Halloween-themed games and activity stations where they can collect treats and win prizes. Family costumes are also welcome.

Pumpkin Smash will resume Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. The park district is encouraging families to save their leftover Halloween jack-o-lanterns and pumpkins for recycling at Pumpkin Smash at the Ron O’Ree Community Garden Plots, located at 811 S. . Nishi-dori. Either drop the pumpkin or leave it alone and slam it directly into the garden soil. This year marks his seventh year with the event, which adds nutrients from leftover pumpkins to the soil and successfully prevents pumpkins from ending up in landfills.
The Friday Night Dance Party will be held on Friday, November 17th from 7pm to 9:30pm at the Fort Hill Activity Center for adults and youth ages 15 and older. Fort Hill instructors will guide everyone through fun dance moves from Zumba, Body Jam, and Zumba Gold, followed by refreshments.
