A new fashion shopping app promises to offer the ultimate convenience of having your purchases delivered within 90 minutes. NIFT (an acronym for Need It For Tonight) connects users with local independent labels across London, offering fast delivery and perfect for solving last-minute outfit dilemmas.
We all want to spend our money with care, especially during the party season, but sometimes busy schedules and late invitations can leave you with nothing to wear properly. Maybe your order doesn’t arrive on time or doesn’t fit, and your costume planning is back to square one.
NIFT stocks a myriad of brands, including popular brands such as Gucci, Miu Miu, Gunny, Rixo and Jimmy Choo, as well as smaller brands from boutique stores, all delivered directly to your door within an hour and a half.
It was this love for independent brands that inspired sisters Simone and Roxanne Oroman to launch the app. “Our passion is to showcase these hidden gems, promote our stores and encourage our customers to explore locally available products rather than always opting for mainstream brands.” NIFT says Roxanne, who is one half of . The app is also using its presence to promote sustainable shopping against the fast fashion giants that dominate the online experience. “We carefully selected the app to include conscious luxury brands, which extend the lifespan of their products, as opposed to fast fashion brands, which often become disposable after minimal use. We only want to include quality labels,” says Simone.
We spoke to the co-founder to find out more about the concept behind the app, misconceptions in fashion, and what’s next for NIFT.
How did you come up with the concept of NIFT?
So: “Roxanne had experienced a delay in the delivery of an item she was scheduled to wear at an event that day. This started a conversation about how flawed delivery in London was. Long delivery times, missed deliveries, untraceability of orders, etc. While there are many great on-demand delivery apps in the city, it is important to note that people can access quality brands and shops without worrying about missing a delivery. , we both realized that there was no equivalent offering in the fashion sector.London has an incredibly wide range of independent and local stores, but like food delivery apps There doesn’t seem to be a way for customers to find out what’s in their area, so we created an app that gives customers access to boutiques and brands within 90 minutes.”
Your app connects consumers not only to luxury brands but also to local shops and boutique brands. Why was that important to you?
B: “London is home to so many amazing boutiques and independent stores, but people often overlook them, especially when it comes to online shopping. Our passion is to showcase these hidden gems, promote our stores and engage our customers. Our goal is to encourage people to explore locally available products.Rather than just choosing mainstream brands, we help boutiques and brands achieve delivery within 90 minutes to keep up with big box retailers. With many stores unfortunately closed, our goal is to attract new customers. Masu.”
How does your app help you shop in an environmentally friendly way?
So: “We have carefully selected the app to include conscious luxury brands. High-quality products that extend the lifespan of their products, as opposed to fast fashion brands that are often minimally used and disposable. We only want to include brands: “NIFT promotes local shopping, encourages users to explore what’s in their area, and delivers within 90 minutes. From local stores. By facilitating the fulfillment of last-mile deliveries, emissions can be reduced by 17 to 26 percent.”
B: “Our efforts extend to prioritizing sustainable transportation methods, combined with efficient routing and built-in real-time delivery tracking. Our approach minimizes the likelihood of missed or delayed deliveries. The goal is to ensure a seamless and reliable customer experience while ensuring a seamless and reliable customer experience.”
What do you think needs to change in the industry to make it more sustainable?
B: “Consumer education. It would really help if more consumers were educated about the impact their choices have on the environment. Transparency in the supply chain would help consumers understand how products are made and distributed. It will help us drive this by ensuring we have access to information about and supporting businesses that actually align with our values.”
What do you wish people knew more about about the fashion industry?
So: “It is vital that people become more aware of the significant environmental impact associated with fast fashion. The rapid production of low-quality, one-off clothing contributes significantly to pollution, resource depletion and increased waste. People are not necessarily well-educated to understand where these clothes come from and are often produced with unethical labor practices. This allows customers to make more informed choices about their clothing purchases and opt for high-quality, ethical alternatives.”
What is the smallest change consumers can make to become more environmentally conscious?
So: “Rather than buying something on sale and never wearing it, buy quality clothes that you really love and wear over and over again. We’re both guilty of this since childhood, and now we’re all guilty of it.” So that’s something we’re very conscious about. We really want to do that.” Encourage all NIFT users to buy things they really like and can wear again. ”
What do you think is the biggest misconception about sustainable fashion?
B: “One of the biggest misconceptions about sustainable fashion is that it is always expensive. Some sustainable fashion items can be expensive because they are made from high-quality materials. While this is true, it doesn’t apply to all. There are affordable and sustainable options available, and many conscious brands are working to make their products more accessible.”
What’s next for NIFT?
B: “We have lots of exciting plans for the future, including the release of the website version of the app and the launch of many new and exciting brands and boutiques. We hope to expand into cities as well.” ”
NIFT is currently only available to customers residing in London.
